Job summary

The Mutual Group is seeking a senior leader to drive the AI Systems Governance Program across the enterprise. You will work with member carriers to govern AI usage, assess risks, monitor performance, and ensure regulatory alignment while enabling responsible innovation.

In addition to AI governance, you will oversee Cyber Security Governance, Data Privacy, and IT Controls, building a cohesive Technology Risk framework and presenting updates to executive committees. Hybrid work options available.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in technology risk, AI governance, cyber risk, or enterprise risk.
• Experience in regulated environments (insurance or financial services preferred).
• Experience working in multi-entity / shared services environments.
• Deep understanding of AI governance and model risk.
• Strong executive communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the AIS Governance Program across the full lifecycle: intake, risk assessment, approval, monitoring, retirement.
• Head the AIS / Security Governance Team, executing AI governance activities defined in the AIS Program.
• Provide ongoing validation, monitoring, and improvement of governance as a continuous control function.
• Partner with business and AI teams to enable responsible AI adoption, not just compliance.
• Establish a shared governance model across multiple member carriers and align with regulatory requirements.
• Oversee AI risk assessments, escalation decisions, and governance reporting to executive committees.
• Coordinate with Cyber Security, Data Privacy, and IT Controls to ensure a cohesive risk framework.
• Drive governance readiness for internal audits, regulatory exams, and SOC 2 readiness.
