Qualifications

• Legal or governance professional with strong technology contracts and AI governance expertise.
• Experience advising enterprises, financial institutions, or technology companies in the UK or internationally.
• Working knowledge of UK GDPR, EU AI Act, cloud regulatory frameworks, and information security standards.
• Excellent drafting, advisory, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate complex technology contracts, cloud services agreements, AI platform contracts, and software development agreements.
• Advise clients on AI governance frameworks, responsible AI principles, AI risk tiering, and compliance with the EU AI Act and UK AI regulatory approach.
• Support organisations in designing AI governance operating models including accountability structures, model risk registers, and audit readiness frameworks.
• Advise on data privacy obligations (UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018) in the context of AI, cloud, and data analytics initiatives.
• Review technology vendor contracts and advise on risk allocation, IP ownership, data processing terms, and liability provisions.
• Conduct legal and compliance risk assessments on GenAI deployments, LLM integration, and AI-enabled products.
• Advise on information governance, data classification, retention policies, and cross-border data transfer obligations.
• Support digital transformation programmes with legal and governance advisory at each delivery stage.
• Develop AI policy frameworks, acceptable use policies, and AI ethics guidelines for enterprise clients.
• Stay current with developments in EU AI Act implementation, UK AI governance proposals, and international AI standards (ISO/IEC 42001).
• Engage with in-house legal, compliance, and technology teams to embed governance into AI development and procurement lifecycles.
