Job summary

Okta is seeking an Engineering Manager (Governance Intelligence) to adapt the OIG product for government customers. You will design, build, and maintain robust backend services and intuitive frontend interfaces, emphasizing AI-native engineering and secure, scalable access control.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering, including 3+ in a management role.
• Hands-on coding with Java, Python or TypeScript; REST/gRPC APIs and UI automation.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containers and major cloud platforms.
• Ability to apply AI meaningfully across the software lifecycle and adopt new AI tooling.
• Proven experience defining scalable backend architectures and secure APIs.

Responsibilities

• Lead ML engineers and other engineers to deliver key Governance Intelligence features.
• Design eval frameworks to measure factuality, relevance, and task completion.
• Own end-to-end AI product lifecycle from data curation to deployment and iteration.
• Architect, deploy, and maintain cloud and on-prem infrastructure with high security baselines.
• Collaborate with product/design to focus on customer outcomes and growth of the team.
