Job summary

Okta Inc. seeks a Staff Engineer for the OIG team to own end-to-end feature areas across enterprise-grade access governance. You will influence architecture and deliver scalable, secure software used by thousands of enterprise customers.

You will collaborate with product, QA, and SRE to design, implement, test, deploy, and monitor features, while mentoring engineers and upholding high engineering quality in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience in production environments.
• Experience architecting large-scale distributed systems for enterprise customers.
• Deep expertise in microservices, event-driven architecture, APIs, and data modeling.
• Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, or Go and cloud-native stacks.
• Ability to influence multiple teams and stakeholders without formal authority.
• Experience with enterprise reliability, security, multi-tenancy, and RBAC/ABAC.

Responsibilities

• Own feature areas from design to deployment and post-launch monitoring.
• Design, build, and ship production-ready features for the OIG system.
• Deliver high-quality bug fixes and address customer-reported issues.
• Write maintainable, well-tested code and uphold engineering standards.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, and SRE to scope and deploy work.
