Job summary

EY seeks a Lead Forward Deployed Engineer to own end-to-end delivery of AI-native systems for a single client engagement in regulated industries. You will be the technical authority, maintain trusted relationships, and ensure production-grade outcomes.

The role embeds with the client, leads a small cell, designs critical components, and champions safety, security, and cost controls while balancing regulatory constraints and business needs.

Qualifications

• 8+ years delivering complex enterprise systems.
• Hands-on engineering depth across integration-heavy architectures and distributed systems.
• Experience with modern AI-enabled stacks and LLM-backed services.
• Proven ability to lead a small technical team while remaining an individual contributor.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end outcome delivery for the cell, including scoping, tradeoffs, technical direction, and production readiness.
• Embed with the client to translate business needs into executable technical solutions under regulatory constraints.
• Serve as the primary technical interface to client stakeholders and manage expectations.
• Stay hands-on, designing and building critical parts of the solution in client environments.
• Direct the work of the cell’s Implementation Engineer and Data Engineer to deliver a production-grade outcome.
• Ensure deployments meet safety, integrity, and cost constraints with control authorities.
