Job summary

Dark Matter Technologies is seeking a Software Engineer I to join our Engineering organization. This entry-level role is ideal for recent graduates who are eager to contribute to enterprise applications in the mortgage and real estate tech space.

You will collaborate with senior engineers, product managers, and QA to design, develop, test, and maintain software, following SDLC practices and coding standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent.
• 0–3 years of software development experience.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language.
• Familiarity with Git and basic database concepts (SQL).
• Understanding of OO design principles and software fundamentals.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, good communication, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, debug, and maintain software applications and services.
• Participate in the full SDLC including requirements, design, development, testing, and support.
• Write clean, well-documented code following standards.
• Analyze requirements to build effective software solutions.
• Collaborate during sprint planning, code reviews, and design discussions.
• Investigate defects and production issues and provide fixes.
• Create technical documentation for functionality and support procedures.
• Contribute to code quality, automation, and reliability improvements.
• Learn Dark Matter products, platforms, and development standards.
