C1.ai is building a horizontal identity platform and is seeking a Design Engineer who blends design thinking with hands-on building. You’ll move fluidly between design tools and AI coding harnesses, emphasizing code-driven UI and fast iteration.

You’ll join a small, high-output design team that values ownership, autonomy, and collaboration with engineering and product to maintain quality at speed. Demands strong communication and a passion for AI-enabled design.

Qualifications

• Strong product design instincts with the ability to code.
• Experience contributing to design systems and UI libraries.
• Solid Figma experience; fluent in design tokens and components.
• Ability to ship UI directly from code and iterate quickly.

Responsibilities

• Design and build product experiences end to end, from problem framing through working implementation.
• Work across an AI-native toolkit daily, using prototyping tools and code to realize ideas.
• Make design decisions grounded in data from usage, research, and feedback.
• Contribute to and evolve the design system as the product surface grows.
• Prototype, validate, and ship UI directly in code rather than handoffs.
• Communicate the rationale behind design choices clearly and publicly.
