Job summary

American Credit Acceptance, LLC is seeking an entry-level Data Platform Engineer who will join our AI-first engineering team to drive AI tools for infrastructure-as-code, automation, security, monitoring, and production support of our cloud data platform. You will ensure AI-generated data solutions are correct, secure, and performant, solving impactful business problems.

Graduates between Fall 2026 and Summer 2027 are eligible to start full-time in 2027, with extensive training and collaboration

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems or related field.
• 0-2 years of professional experience (internships and academic or personal projects count).
• Strong SQL skills and working knowledge of relational databases.
• Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts (compute, storage, least privilege).
• Working knowledge of Git and pull-request-based workflows.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to clearly explain technical work, reasoning, and trade-offs to engineers and business partners.

• Build AI-generated data solutions in collaboration with business partners to turn requirements into prompts and acceptance criteria.
• Prompt and iterate with AI coding tools to produce high-quality solutions.
• Provision and manage platform objects: databases, schemas, warehouses, roles, and access grants following least-privilege principles.
• Monitor platform health, query performance, job reliability, and consumption; investigate anomalies and drive root cause.
• Build and maintain cost visibility and optimization by right-sizing compute and reporting on trends.
• Identify bugs, security issues, performance problems, data quality issues, or architectural mismatches in AI output.
• After improvements, circle back with engineers and business partners to confirm outcomes and iterate.
