Job summary

Commerce is seeking an AI-first Data Engineering Manager to lead our Enterprise Data Engineering team. You will own the Snowflake‑ and Airflow‑based platform roadmap, building a team that treats AI agents as core teammates in data pipelines and quality checks.

This hands‑on leadership role requires shipping production data pipelines and mentoring engineers across time zones. You will coach engineers on agentic data engineering, design autonomous checks, and drive modernization while

Qualifications

• 7+ years in data engineering.
• 3+ years directly leading a data engineering team.
• Production experience with Snowflake and Airflow.
• Strong SQL and Python skills.
• Experience with modern ELT tooling (dbt, Fivetran/Airbyte).
• Familiarity with AI coding assistants and agentic tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a data engineering team, including hiring and performance management.
• Own the technical roadmap for the Enterprise Data platform (Snowflake + Airflow).
• Embed agentic tools into daily workflow for development, testing, and review.
• Develop agent-assisted data quality checks and self-healing pipelines.
• Collaborate with Analytics, Data Science, Product, and business stakeholders to deliver data products.
• Set standards for data quality, observability, and cost efficiency.
• Drive platform modernization and evaluate new data/AI tooling.
• Establish scalable design review, incident response, and documentation practices.
• Report team health and platform reliability to leadership.
