Job summary

IBM Consulting is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer - AI to partner with clients in the US, transforming complex business challenges into production-grade AI solutions. You will blend software engineering, data science, GenAI, agentic AI, and advanced analytics to prototype, deploy, and scale value-driven solutions.

Work spans solving client challenges, building end-to-end GenAI and RAG apps, agentic AI systems, data integrations, and scalable MLOps.

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years in AI/ML, data science, or software engineering.
• Strong Python and SQL with GenAI and agentic AI experience.
• Hands-on with LLMs, RAG, embeddings, and vector databases.
• Experience designing agentic AI workflows and multi-step orchestration.
• Experience with ML/data processing tooling and cloud platforms.
• Proven client-facing communication skills and BS in a technical field.

Responsibilities

• Identify AI use cases and define success metrics with clients.
• Develop end-to-end GenAI, RAG, and agentic AI apps.
• Engineer LLM-powered agents, tool use, prompts, and orchestration.
• Prepare data and integrate AI with enterprise systems and APIs.
• Apply MLOps/LLMOps, testing, watching, and governance.
• Present outcomes and drive client adoption of AI solutions.
