Job summary

IBM Consulting is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer – AI to work directly with clients to transform complex business challenges into production-ready AI solutions. You will combine software engineering, data science, GenAI, and advanced analytics to rapidly prototype, deploy, and scale value-driven AI applications.

The role emphasizes building end-to-end GenAI and agentic AI systems, data engineering, MLOps/LLMOps, and strong client communication.

Qualifications

• 8-12+ years of experience in AI/ML, data science, or software engineering delivering production AI solutions.
• Strong Python and SQL skills with hands-on GenAI and agentic AI apps using LangChain, LangGraph, or CrewAI.
• Experience building GenAI apps with LLMs, RAG, embeddings, and vector DBs (Milvus, Elasticsearch, pgvector, Pinecone).
• Experience designing agentic AI workflows with LangChain/LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, including tool calling and multi-step orchestration.
• Experience with ML/data processing using scikit-learn, PyTorch, Pandas, or Spark.
• Experience integrating/deploying AI solutions via REST/FastAPI, cloud AI platforms (AWS Bedrock, Azure AI, Google Vertex AI).
• Experience with Git, Docker, Kubernetes and at least one major cloud AI platform (AWS Bedrock, Azure AI Foundry, or Vertex AI).
• Strong client-facing skills and ability to translate business challenges into technical solutions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Identify AI use cases with client teams, define success metrics.
• Develop end-to-end GenAI, RAG, and agentic AI apps using LangGraph, CrewAI, and hyperscaler platforms.
• Design and implement LLM-powered agents, tool use/orchestration, and evaluation frameworks.
• Prepare structured/unstructured data and integrate AI with enterprise systems.
• Apply MLOps/LLMOps, testing, monitoring, and governance for reliability and safety.
• Present insights and drive client adoption of AI solutions.
