Job summary

IBM Consulting is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer - AI to transform complex business challenges into production AI solutions for clients across industries. You will blend software engineering, data science, GenAI, agentic AI, and MLOps to prototype, deploy, and scale impactful AI systems.

Work involves building GenAI apps, RAG workflows, tool orchestration, data prep, and integration with enterprise APIs on major cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• 8-12+ years of experience in AI/ML, data science, or software engineering delivering production AI solutions.
• Strong Python and SQL skills with hands-on GenAI and agentic AI experience.
• Hands-on experience building GenAI apps with LLMs, including RAG and embeddings.
• Experience designing agentic AI workflows with LangChain/LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen.
• Experience with ML/data processing using scikit-learn, PyTorch, Pandas, Spark.
• Experience deploying AI using APIs, cloud platforms (AWS Bedrock, Azure AI, Vertex AI) and tools like Git/Docker/Kubernetes.
• Strong client-facing skills and ability to translate business problems into technical solutions.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering/Data Science or related field.

Responsibilities

• Partner with clients to define AI use cases and success metrics.
• Develop end-to-end GenAI, RAG, and agentic AI apps on cloud platforms.
• Design and implement LLM-powered agents, tool use, and orchestration.
• Prepare data and integrate AI solutions with enterprise systems and APIs.
• Apply MLOps/LLMOps practices for reliable, secure production AI.
• Present insights, drive client adoption, and create reusable AI assets.
