Job summary

TrendAI, the AI security unit of Trend Micro, seeks a Threat Detection & Response Engineer to advance AI-era threat research and build detection capabilities. This mid-level IC role blends threat research with hands-on engineering and rapid prototyping, offering exposure to multiple security domains.

You will collaborate with AI/ML teams to translate findings into production-ready capabilities, grow toward senior architecture roles, and contribute to a safer AI-powered future.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years in cybersecurity, software engineering, or related field with threat detection and response exposure.
• Experience building or contributing to production systems.
• Familiarity with security tooling, workflows, and AI/ML concepts related to threat detection.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Research AI-era threats and defensive technologies.
• Build, test, and refine detection-and-response capabilities.
• Prototype and document new defensive approaches.
• Collaborate with threat intel, detection engineering, and data science teams.
