Job summary

Humana, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and support production applications with exposure to Epic or similar healthcare platforms.

The role emphasizes AI-assisted development using Claude to enhance coding, debugging, testing, and documentation while ensuring security and quality standards. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of software engineering experience, strong problem-solving, and the ability to deliver reliable, scalable solutions in a healthcare technology

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience designing, coding, testing, debugging in production.
• Experience using Claude or similar AI-assisted development tools.
• Ability to review AI-generated code and ensure quality.
• Experience with source control, PRs, code reviews, branching, and SDLC.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software applications based on requirements.
• Use Claude and AI tools to support coding, testing, and documentation while upholding security standards.
• Translate requirements into scalable, secure technical solutions.
• Assist Epic or comparable healthcare tech platforms integration and enhancement.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement fixes.
• Participate in code reviews and produce clean, reusable code.
• Strengthen quality via unit/integration/automated testing and QA improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to align priorities and outcomes.
• Contribute to CI/CD, automated builds, testing, deployment, and releases.
