Job summary

Zions Bancorporation is seeking an AI Engineer for its Innovation Lab in Midvale, UT. You will blend software engineering with AI, building production-ready AI solutions and scalable services.

Collaborate with product managers and IT to enhance user experience, review processes, and deploy robust AI-powered applications in a finance setting. This is an in-office role requiring strong engineering practices.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in software development and cloud-based architectures.
• Proven Generative AI experience (prompting, fine-tuning, RAG).
• Strong API design, CI/CD, Git and code-quality practices.
• Proficiency Python/Java and modern frameworks.
• Knowledge of SDLC, Agile/Scrum, SQL and data modeling.
• Cloud experience (GCP preferred; AWS/Azure acceptable).
• Banking/financial services experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI/ML software solutions focusing on Generative AI, LLMs and RAG.
• Design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices (Python/Java).
• Support testing, configuration management, and Git workflows.
• Maintain AI pipelines and infrastructure for reliability and scale.
• Contribute to product design reviews and cross-team collaboration.
• Participate in CI/CD, model versioning, and deployment processes.
• Review business processes and propose AI-enabled improvements.
