Job summary

CGI is seeking a Junior AI Engineer in Salt Lake City, UT to design, develop, and deploy AI-powered applications for enterprise clients. You'll work with Generative AI, LLMs, RAG, and cloud-native technologies alongside experienced engineers and architects.

You will build AI capabilities, REST APIs, and microservices, containerize with Docker, deploy on Kubernetes, and stay current with evolving AI technologies across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Software Engineering/AI/Data Science or related field
• Up to 2 years of experience in software engineering, AI, or ML development
• Strong Python and SQL skills
• Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) and prompt engineering
• Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures and vector databases
• Familiarity with LangChain, LangGraph or similar orchestration frameworks
• Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations
• Understanding of REST APIs and microservices architecture
• Docker and modern CI/CD practices
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills
• Curiosity, adaptability, and enthusiasm for learning AI technologies

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy AI-powered solutions for enterprise clients
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and business teams
• Develop AI features using Generative AI, LLMs, and RAG
• Build REST APIs and FastAPI microservices to serve AI capabilities
• Containerize applications using Docker and deploy on Kubernetes
• Maintain AI workflows using LangChain and LangGraph
• Work with MCP servers to integrate AI apps with enterprise data
• Evaluate emerging models, frameworks, tools and development practices
• Participate in code reviews, testing, documentation, and CI/CD
• Focus on security, scalability, reliability, and maintainability
• Stay current with the evolving AI ecosystem
