Job summary

Bain & Company is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to design, build, and operate end-to-end solutions for its PEG Innovation team. You will work across UI and backend services in React, Svelte, Python, and Node.js, with AI-enabled features and solid testing.

The role emphasizes independence, collaboration with Product and Design, and cloud deployment on Azure/AWS. You will contribute to secure, scalable systems, own features end-to-end, and help advance engineering standards while adapting

Qualifications

• 2 to 5 years of professional experience building and shipping web applications and backend services in production.
• Experience implementing features in modern TypeScript frameworks (React and/or Svelte) and writing tests for shipped work.
• Experience building backend APIs/services in Python (FastAPI) and/or Node.js (TypeScript, Express).
• Relational databases experience including schema evolution and migrations.
• Cloud experience: Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.
• Experience with AI-enabled features (LLM integration, retrieval, vector search).

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain UI features in React and Svelte with TypeScript and Tailwind.
• Develop backend services in Python (FastAPI) and Node.js (TypeScript, Express).
• Design and validate RESTful and type-safe API contracts.
• Evolve PostgreSQL schemas and perform safe migrations.
• Integrate AI-enabled features and ensure safe deployment.
• Collaborate with product/design and ensure end-to-end delivery.
• Write unit/integration tests and contribute to E2E tests.
• Participate in releases, incidents, and runbooks.
