Job summary

Bain & Company is building a suite of data and software solutions to revolutionize private equity data usage. Full Stack Software Engineers work across React/Svelte frontends and Python/Node backends, with AI-enabled features and cloud infrastructure on Azure and AWS.

The team emphasizes end-to-end ownership, testing, and collaboration with Product, Design, and Platform teams, in a hybrid model with in-office presence at least 1 day per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of professional experience building and shipping web applications and backend services in production.
• Experience implementing features in modern TypeScript frameworks (React and/or Svelte) and writing tests for shipped work.
• Experience building backend APIs and services in Python (FastAPI) and/or Node.js (TypeScript, Express), with relational databases and migrations.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain product UI features in React and Svelte with TypeScript and Tailwind.
• Develop backend services in Python (FastAPI) and Node.js (TypeScript, Express).
• Design RESTful, type-safe API contracts and manage frontend/backend boundaries.
• Evolve PostgreSQL schemas with SQLAlchemy and migrations.
• Build and operate scheduled and event-driven jobs for ingestion and processing.
• Integrate AI-enabled features (LLM, vector search) into product workflows.
• Collaborate with Platform and AI teams for safe integration.
• Write unit/integration tests and contribute to end-to-end tests.
• Provide technical guidance and maintain documentation as part of DoD.
