Job summary

NextEra Energy is seeking a Resource Modeling Analyst WL to run AI-driven statistical, wind flow, solar irradiance, and GIS models for long-term energy production estimates. You will mentor junior analysts and support senior quant analysts with prototype coding and QA.

Responsibilities include data collection, model testing, investment support, site suitability analysis, and field data collection. Some travel (5–25%) is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• 1+ years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Reviews raw meteorological data from sensing devices.
• Sets up and analyzes numerical weather models to understand long-term wind/energy resources.
• Runs in-house software to translate wind resource into energy production optimizations for various turbine configurations.
• Performs geospatial analysis using ArcGIS to identify turbine locations with maximum energy output.
• Collects and filters solar irradiance and solar farm data.
• Reviews electrical and structural drawings of solar farms.
• Analyzes system energy losses due to wiring, transformers, soiling, snow, etc.
• Provides investment due diligence and financing support.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams on AI-based problem-solving.
• Travels to project sites for data collection and site activities.
