Job summary

NextEra Analytics, Inc. seeks an Energy Market Quantitative Analyst to develop and optimize models for renewable generation, energy storage, and traditional utility assets.

You will craft mathematical models, perform market analyses, and support trading, origination, and asset optimization through sophisticated tools. The role requires strong Python/R programming, energy market knowledge, and solid statistical modeling skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field or related area.
• 2+ years of experience in quantitative analysis, energy markets or related field.
• Strong programming skills in Python and/or R with commercial development experience.
• Solid mathematical and statistical modeling capabilities.
• Experience with energy market participation rules (Day-Ahead and Real-Time).
• Knowledge of power systems, transmission planning, and contingency analysis is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize mathematical models and algorithms for energy markets and asset optimization.
• Quantitatively study spot/forward prices and volatilities for pricing, trading and risk management.
• Collaborate with origination, risk management and trading to interpret model valuations.
• Design risk management tools to evaluate company risk profiles and exposures.
• Support trading, origination and asset optimization through analytical tools.
