Job summary

DataAnnotation is hiring a Web Designer - AI Trainer in Bellevue, WA (onsite) to assess frontier AI outputs on real-world visual design tasks.

You will create design briefs, feed them to frontier AI design tools, test two model versions, and document performance with concrete evidence.

This contract role offers hourly pay and opportunities to critique AI-generated interfaces, layouts, and motion outputs.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English (native or bilingual level) required.
• Experience in UI/UX design, web design, product design, or graphic design.
• Strong understanding of visual hierarchy, layout, typography, interaction design, and user flow.
• Ability to clearly explain why a design fails, not only that it fails.
• Comfort working with AI design tools or ability to learn them quickly.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Create challenging, realistic design briefs using your professional design expertise.
• Feed briefs into frontier AI design tools and evaluate results against standards you would apply to a colleague.
• Test two model versions using identical prompts and assets, then determine which performed better.
• Document where each model performed well and where it fell short.
• Critique AI-generated interfaces, mockups, layouts, and slide, infographic, illustration, and motion outputs.
• Flag concrete failures with evidence, including alignment and spacing issues, content overflow, typography problems, visual hierarchy gaps, SVG quality, ignored assets, and off-brief interpretation.
• Contribute across areas such as software and interactive work, office and presentation design, technical illustration, graphic design, and new media.
