Job summary

DataAnnotation is hiring an experienced Digital Web Designer - AI Trainer for flexible, contract-based work from Evanston, IL, with remote options. You will craft realistic UI/UX briefs and test frontier AI tools against professional standards, judging output with rigorous design criteria.

You will evaluate interfaces, compare model versions, and document failures across typography, layout, and visual hierarchy while collaborating across design disciplines.

Qualifications

• Native or bilingual English required.
• Background in UI/UX, web design, product design, or graphic design.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Ability to articulate why a design fails, not only that it does.

Responsibilities

• Design realistic briefs for UI/UX, web, and visual deliverables.
• Evaluate AI-generated interfaces and visual outputs against a professional standard.
• Compare two model versions using identical prompts and assets, then decide which performed better and why.
• Critique model-generated interfaces, mockups, layouts, slides, infographics, illustrations, and motion.
• Document concrete failures with evidence across alignment and spacing, content overflow and cutoff, typography, visual hierarchy, SVG and illustration quality, ignored assets, and off-brief interpretation.
• Contribute across software and interactive work, office and presentation design, technical illustration, graphic design, and new media.
