Job summary

DataAnnotation is seeking an experienced Web Designer - AI Trainer to assess frontier AI models on real visual design tasks. You will craft realistic briefs, run them through AI design tools, compare model versions, and document performance gaps across interfaces, layouts, and visuals.

You will critique AI-generated outputs, ensure high visual quality, and contribute to diverse design areas while working remotely as a contract professional in Richardson, TX.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English (native or bilingual) required or preferred.
• Background in UI/UX design, web design, product design, or graphic design.
• Strong understanding of visual hierarchy, layout, typography, interaction design, and user flow.
• Ability to clearly explain why a design fails, not just that it fails.
• Comfort working with AI design tools or ability to learn them quickly.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred (current, in progress, or completed).

Responsibilities

• Create challenging, realistic design briefs using your professional expertise.
• Run briefs through frontier AI design tools and evaluate results to standard.
• Compare two model versions using identical prompts and assets.
• Determine which output performed better and document gaps.
• Critique AI-generated interfaces, mockups, layouts, and slides.
• Review infographics, illustrations, and motion outputs.
• Flag failures with evidence (alignment, typography, overflow, etc.).
• Contribute across design areas such as software and interactive work, office/presentation design, technical illustration, graphic design, and new media.
