Job summary

Taranis is seeking an AI-native Technical Product Manager to translate ag retail and grower needs into AI-enabled products. You will work closely with retailers and agronomists while guiding AI-driven specs with our engineering team to deliver value for growers and retailers.

Qualifications

• Experience in agriculture or ag tech (retail, agronomy, grower-facing, crop inputs, equipment)
• Hands-on experience directing AI tools to draft and refine product specs or prototypes
• Strong written communication to define precise requirements
• Ability to lead credible tech conversations with engineers about tradeoffs
• Understanding internal systems (CRM, ERP, inventory) and translating to data integration requirements
• Self-directed, able to own outcomes with minimal oversight
• Willingness to travel regularly within the Midwest to work with customers
• Strong analytical and collaborative skills

Responsibilities

• Customer & Agronomic Discovery: spend time with ag retail customers to understand value across pre-season, in-season, and harvest.
• Spec-Driven Product Development: draft, refine, and validate product specs; prototype with real field data; tighten specs with engineering; prioritize opportunities by agronomic and economic value.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: co-develop specs with engineering; ensure alignment with design standards; partner with Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing; collaborate with Agronomy.
• Communicate customer needs clearly to engineers and leadership to inform roadmap decisions.
