Job summary
Zartis is seeking a Technology Lead / Architect to guide a distributed team building AI-powered classifieds platforms on Google Cloud. You will own the technical direction, stay hands-on, and align with product and UX to deliver scalable services across microservices and legacy systems.
Ideal candidates bring 7+ years in backend engineering, Java expertise, and experience leading technical teams while delivering production-grade solutions in a remote-first environment.
Qualifications
- 7 years backend engineering experience with hands-on Java experience.
- Proven expertise with Java, Spring or Dropwizard.
- Experience designing and running microservices, and integrating with monoliths.
- Experience with MySQL and MongoDB.
- Hands-on Google Cloud Platform experience (Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Firestore, Cloud Armor).
- Significant experience building AI-powered products and leading teams.
- Previous Tech Lead or Architect role while remaining hands-on.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical direction and architecture of the squad's products from experiments to production.
- Stay hands-on: write code and review PRs.
- Design services for GCP serverless infrastructure (Cloud Run).
- Integrate new products with client landscape (microservices and monolith).
- Guide engineers, set technical standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with Product Manager and UX Designer to turn ideas into testable products.
- Help build AI-powered features balancing speed, reliability, and security.
