The Hartford in Columbus, OH is seeking a transformative Solution Architect to join the Small Business IT team. You will design end‑to‑end solutions spanning mobile, web, APIs, microservices and cloud, aligning with reference architectures to drive business outcomes.

You will lead in exploring Generative AI, advanced digital products, and security patterns while collaborating with cross‑functional teams. Hybrid work requires 3 in‑office days weekly in Columbus or Hartford.

Qualifications

5+ years in Solution or Application Architecture within a large enterprise.
Experience in Small Commercial Insurance and cloud-based solutions (AWS/Google Cloud).
Proficiency with microservices, APIs (REST/SOAP) and modern web apps.
Hands-on AI/ML concepts including LLMs, RAG and semantic search.
Knowledge of CIAM, OAuth2/OIDC and security patterns.
Strong communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

Establish and drive end‑to‑end solution designs aligned to reference architectures.
Translate strategy into designs spanning mobile, web, APIs, microservices, data and cloud.
Produce option analyses, balancing strategy, security, reliability, and cost.
Design SaaS and native cloud architectures; modernize assets.
Advance digital identity and zero‑trust patterns; ensure security standards.
Partner with value streams on roadmaps; ensure operability with telemetry and SLOs.
Evaluate emerging technologies to improve outcomes.
Align to architecture governance and approvals process.
