Job summary

Ascend Learning is seeking a Solution Architect to lead enterprise architecture efforts with an emphasis on AI-enabled solutions. You will align business processes, architect enterprise platforms, and collaborate across business units.

The role requires coordinating with stakeholders, developers, and architects to drive standard integration patterns and scalable architectures. The position works in a hybrid model from Leawood, KS, with some potential for Boston-area collaboration.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software architecture, design, and implementation with a variety of technologies.
• 4+ years implementing eCommerce and Marketing Automation platforms, with a preference for Adobe Commerce (Magento) and Hubspot.
• 3+ years of software development in Java, PHP, HTML, JQuery, JavaScript, and SQL; familiarity with Microservices, Micro frontends, and asynchronous messaging (Kafka).
• Experience with Kafka, Azure Service Bus, LogicApps, and PowerPlatform.
• Ability to produce clear documentation to convey architecture, development standards, roadmaps, and challenges.
• Disciplined, dynamic and able to manage multiple projects in a rapidly changing environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to summarize complex issues clearly.
• A entrepreneurial/problem-solving mindset and product development passion.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership through architecture discussions, documentation, design reviews, and guidance on building reusable components.
• Understand business processes; facilitate discovery of entities, attributes, relationships, and business rules.
• Evaluate environments, research, and implement designs to improve reliability, security, productivity and efficiency.
• Visualize solutions and present them to business through POC or diagrams aligned to goals.
• Design and evolve architectural patterns, platforms, and guardrails enabling AI capabilities at scale.
• Advocate for DevOps and CI/CD with scalable components, API deployment, version control and monitoring.
• Make design and governance decisions across enterprise platforms; oversee SDLC, testing, deployment strategies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and executives, presenting recommendations concisely.
