Job summary

The Hartford is seeking a transformative Small Business Solution Architect to join the IT team and shape end-to-end digital experiences from quote to service. You will design architectures spanning mobile, web, APIs, microservices, and cloud, driving AI-first approaches and security.

This hybrid role requires strong communication, leadership and hands-on cloud experience, with emphasis on modern identity, telemetry, and governance across multiple platforms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Solution Architecture within a large enterprise.
• Experience in Small Commercial Insurance is preferred.
• Proven cloud-based solution design experience in AWS and/or Google Cloud.

Responsibilities

• Establish and drive end-to-end solution designs aligned to reference architectures.
• Translate strategy into designs across mobile, web, APIs, and cloud infra.
• Produce option analyses balancing strategy, security, reliability and cost.
• Design SaaS and native cloud architectures and modernize assets.
• Advance digital identity and zero-trust patterns; align with security standards.
• Partner with value streams on roadmaps; ensure operability and telemetry.
• Evaluate emerging technologies to improve outcomes.
• Align to architecture governance and pragmatically handle exceptions.
