The Hartford is seeking a Solution Architect to drive the transformation of the Employee Benefits technology ecosystem. This architect will define target-state architectures that modernize legacy platforms, accelerate cloud adoption, integrate and scale complex systems, and create an AI-ready, agent-enabled ecosystem.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of experience in solution/architecture in large enterprise environments.
• Cloud-native design experience (AWS/GCP) and API integration patterns.
• Hands-on GenAI/ML in production; agentic architectures, RAG, embeddings.
• Expertise in digital identity/CIAM and modern auth (OIDC/OAuth2).
• Experience with SPA frameworks (Angular/React) and REST/JSON.
• Understanding of cloud, hybrid cloud, and container deployment architectures.
• Strong written, verbal, and influence skills—comfortable engaging senior leaders and mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

• Establish and drive solution designs aligned to reference architectures, blueprints, and business/IT strategies with AI focus.
• Translate strategy into end-to-end designs spanning APIs, microservices, micro-frontends, and SPAs.
• Produce option analyses and decision records balancing strategy, security, reliability, complexity, automation, and cost.
• Design solutions leveraging SaaS and Native Cloud architectures, modernizing assets.
• Advance digital identity and zero-trust patterns; ensure alignment with security standards.
• Partner with value streams on roadmaps and ensure designs meet non-functional expectations and are operable.
• Evaluate and land emerging technologies that demonstrably improve outcomes.
• Align to architecture governance and conformance checks.
