Job summary

The Hartford Employee Benefits is seeking a Solution Architect to modernize legacy platforms, accelerate cloud adoption, and enable AI-enabled ecosystems. This hybrid role will drive end-to-end designs across APIs, microservices, SPAs, and data platforms while aligning with security standards.

You’ll influence leaders, collaborate with value streams, and ensure architectures are scalable, reliable, and cost-effective across cloud and on‑prem environments.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of experience in solution architecture within a large-scale enterprise environment.
• Demonstrated impact designing cloud-native solutions (AWS/GCP), APIs and integration patterns including Microservices and SOA.
• Event-driven and RESTful API based integration patterns.
• Hands-on experience applying GenAI/ML to production use cases; familiarity with agentic architectures, RAG, semantic search, embedding models and LLMs.
• Expertise with digital identity/CIAM and modern auth (OIDC/OAuth2) and aligning to enterprise security standards.
• Experience developing or designing SPA using frameworks such as Angular or React.
• Experience designing and implementing cloud-based solutions using Microservices or API-based integrations; understanding JSON, REST, and HTTP.
• Strong platform/product thinking, KPIs, reliability engineering, and cost management.

Responsibilities

• Establish and drive clear, effective, and innovative solution designs aligned to reference architectures with a focus on AI.
• Translate strategy into end-to-end designs spanning APIs, microservices, SPAs, and AI-enabled architectures.
• Produce option analyses and decision records balancing strategy, security, reliability, complexity, and cost.
• Design SaaS and native cloud architectures and service rationalization.
• Advance digital identity and zero-trust patterns across experiences; align with security standards.
• Partner with value streams on roadmaps and program increments; ensure designs meet non-functional requirements.
• Evaluate emerging technologies that improve outcomes.
• Align to architecture governance incl. reviews and conformance checks.
