Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a highly motivated graduate student intern to advance AI/LLM usage in electric utility model validation, diagnostics, and remediation. The role emphasizes applying AI to large-scale power system data and improving model quality across utility enterprise systems.

The internship runs January 2027 to June 2027 (up to 12 months), hybrid in Bellevue, WA or Atlanta, GA, with opportunities for future full-time roles. Strong power systems and CS background required.

Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. Electrical Engineering (Power Systems specialization) or Computer Science.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Programming experience in Python and data analytics.
  • Excellent English communication skills – both written and oral.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze extensive power system model validation and diagnostic logs.
  • Develop AI/LLM-based approaches to detect, classify, and prioritize modeling issues.
  • Investigate network model inconsistencies and determine root causes.
  • Build intelligent workflows for model remediation suggestions.
  • Support power flow, fault isolation, and feeder reconfiguration analyses; collaborate with customers.
  • Document findings and present results to engineering leadership.
