Job summary

GE Vernova’s Grid Solutions is seeking a GridOS Project Engineer Co-Op/Intern to apply AI and large language models to power system model validation, diagnostics, and remediation. You will analyze extensive logs and develop AI-driven approaches to detect and prioritize modeling issues while collaborating with engineers and customers on reliable distribution automation solutions.

This 6–12 month internship (12 preferred) offers hybrid work (2 days in office, 3 remote) at Bellevue, WA or Atlanta,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems) or Computer Science.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Programming experience in Python and data analytics.
• Excellent English communication skills—written and oral.

Responsibilities

• Analyze power system model validation and diagnostic logs.
• Develop AI/LLM-based approaches to detect and prioritize modeling issues.
• Investigate network model inconsistencies and root causes.
• Build intelligent workflows for model remediation.
• Support distribution automation functions (FLISR, VVO, fault location, feeder reconfiguration) and collaborate with engineering teams and customers.
• Document research findings and present results to engineering leadership.
