Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking interns to support the Asset Strategy & Budget Integration team, part of the Energy Supply’s Performance Optimization department. You will help build and improve tools for work assessment, five-year budgeting, and forecast planning, and contribute to AI-powered solutions that streamline project submittals.

The role includes validating scoring inputs, working with operations data and analytics, and developing skills for fleet-wide optimization while paired with a mentor.

Qualifications

• Current student, Junior or higher (as of Fall 2027).
• Enrolled in an ABET accredited college or university pursuing a degree in engineering.
• Experience with AI models is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support and enhance tools and models used for work assessment, budgeting, and forecast planning.
• Assist in building AI powered tools to reduce submittal workloads.
• Validate scoring inputs for accuracy using operations data and performance analytics.
