Job summary

Avalara is hiring a People Analytics Partner to serve as a strategic data consultant for the People & Culture organization. You will translate workforce questions into structured analyses and executive narratives to influence hiring strategy, workforce planning, and retention.

Your focus will be on Talent Acquisition and People Business Partners, analyzing end-to-end recruitment funnels, headcount movement, and pipeline health to improve recruiting efficiency and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or analytical discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years in HR-focused People Analytics or Business Analytics.
• 1+ years analyzing Talent Acquisition data, pipelines, and hiring metrics.
• Fluency in SQL and advanced Excel/Google Sheets for data extraction and modeling.
• Proficiency with BI platforms like Tableau, Power BI, Visier, or Looker.
• Experience delivering end-to-end analytical projects and executive-ready presentations.
• Experience using AI productivity tools in analytics workflows.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Talent Acquisition leaders and People Business Partners to address talent priorities and deliver workforce analytics.
• Provide analytical support to Talent Acquisition, tracking full-funnel recruiting metrics.
• Connect hiring trends to retention, turnover drivers, and organizational design with PBPs.
• Collaborate with Total Rewards, Talent Development, DE&I, and HR Operations for cohesive insights.
• Translate ambiguous questions into rigorous hypotheses and actionable narratives.
• Query, manipulate, and analyze complex People and recruiting datasets using SQL and BI tools.
• Design and deliver executive-ready data stories and dashboards.
