Avalara is seeking a senior People Analytics Data Scientist to architect advanced analytics and AI-powered solutions shaping our global workforce strategy. You will own end-to-end analytics from data foundations to predictive insights, partnering with senior leaders in a rigorous SaaS environment.

The role requires 5+ years applying advanced analytics, Python/SQL proficiency, NLP experience, and a track record delivering impact.

Qualifications

5+ years applying advanced analytics methods to people or business decisions.
Proficiency in Python and SQL; experience with R.
Experience with employee listening platforms (Qualtrics, Glint, Culture Amp, Medallia).
Demonstrated use of NLP, text analytics, or sentiment analysis on unstructured feedback.
Familiarity with AI/ML tools and frameworks including LLMs.
Proven ability to deliver end-to-end analytical projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Design and deploy ML and predictive models using NLP, sentiment analysis, and generative AI.
Build NLP/text analytics models to mine open-ended feedback at scale.
Design listening architectures integrating structured and unstructured data.
Partner with People leaders to translate insights into interventions and measure impact.
