Job summary

Airbnb, Inc. is seeking an Operations Engineer for BizTech to apply AI at the forefront of operational health, using AI-powered triage and automation to resolve tickets and improve reliability.

You will prototype AI-driven runbooks, embed AI into diagnostics, and build self-healing observability with dashboards and alerting, collaborating with global teams.

The role emphasizes AI fluency, hands-on judgment when needed, and ongoing automation to shrink the backlog and speed incident response.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with observability and metrics tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ElasticSearch).
• 3+ years working with data querying and pipelines (SQL, Airflow, Trino, SQS).
• Working knowledge of network fundamentals and hardware (Cisco, Palo Alto).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code.
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD and automation tooling across AWS, GCP, or Oracle Cloud.
• Comfort working in ticket/workflow-driven environments using Jira and Confluence.
• Experience supporting enterprise SaaS tools and SSO/identity integration is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage the ticket queue prioritizing and resolving requests while identifying recurring categories to automate or deflect.
• Participate in a rotating on-call and incident response schedule, troubleshooting and documenting issues in real time.
• Build and maintain monitoring dashboards (Tableau, Superset, Grafana) that track service health, availability, and data quality.
• Use AI-assisted tools to speed up triage, root-cause analysis, scripting, and documentation while knowing when hands-on judgment is needed.
• Partner with global stakeholder teams to drive issues to resolution.
