Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Software Development Engineer II to design and deliver automation tools and AI-powered services that keep our global network infrastructure running. You will build products that put intelligent technology in the hands of network engineers, helping them deploy, manage, and maintain infrastructure across thousands of Amazon sites.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Design and operate full-stack tools and AI-powered services used by network engineers across thousands of Amazon sites, owning features from requirements through deployment and ongoing operations.
• Develop AI agents that use large language models to automate operational workflows, including infrastructure debugging, intelligent Q&A, and deployment coordination.
• Build and improve the downtime window management system that Site Operations teams rely on to coordinate maintenance activities and manage automated deployment reservations.
• Partner with network engineers, systems engineers, and product managers to turn operational pain points into self-service solutions spanning web UIs, CLIs, and authorization systems.
• Mentor peers through code reviews and design discussions while identifying service bottlenecks and driving operational improvements across the team.
