Job summary

Relay, a cross-chain payments protocol, is hiring an Internal Tooling Engineer to empower engineers with faster, safer workflows. You’ll build production-grade tools and integrations used by our own developers, instrument them, monitor them, and own the end-to-end reliability of internal systems.

You’ll work inside the engineering org, improving agentic development workflows, enabling AI-assisted code reviews, and shaping how we observe, alert, and rollback.

Qualifications

• Hands-on backend engineering experience: build, deploy, and maintain production services with monitoring and alerts.
• 5+ years in software engineering.
• Strong TypeScript and internal tooling experience.
• Production experience with LLM agents: tool use, retrieval, orchestration, evals.
• Experience bringing AI-assisted code review into a team’s daily workflow.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and code review systems.

Responsibilities

• Improve internal AI agent workflows and tooling.
• Own shared library of agent skills, tools, and context used by engineers and agents.
• Observe how engineers use AI tools and fix friction in workflows, tooling, or guidance.
• Track cycle time, token cost, and rework; report impact of changes.
