Job summary
Optum is seeking a Sr. Service Designer for the AI & Product Office to map current care delivery, design future-state services, and partner with product, design, and engineering to implement AI-enabled care solutions.
You will drive operating decisions, measure impact, and ensure enterprise readiness while collaborating with local market teams. The role focuses on frontline implementation, process improvement, and building scalable service designs using AI tools, with remote work flexibility
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in operations, process improvement, or service design.
- 3+ years within a Care Delivery Organization designing AI-enabled products and services.
- Experience in large, matrixed organizations.
- Experience planning Lean/kaizen events with frontline teams.
- Experience using AI tools in real work and built/adopted agents or automation.
- Senior individual contributor who owns hard problems end to end.
Responsibilities
- Map and shadow how care is delivered today across markets.
- Design service blueprints: roles, workflows, staffing, and policies.
- Define operational measures and hand off to deployment while enabling AI-enabled improvements.
