Expression is seeking a Full Stack Engineer to develop software across federal mission systems, leveraging AI coding agents as a primary tool. This role covers web interfaces, backend services, APIs, databases, and containers for AWS deployment.

You will direct AI agents like Claude Code and OpenAI Codex, while owning planning, design decisions, code reviews, testing, and quality. Hybrid in the DMV or remote with onsite as needed.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/SE/IT or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong programming in JavaScript, TypeScript, Python.
• Experience with React UI and backend APIs using Node.js/Python.
• Knowledge of HTTP, REST APIs, authentication.
• Relational data modeling and SQL.
• Understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Security risks including OWASP Top 10.
• Linux CLI, Bash, and Git.
• MongoDB or similar document DB with schema design.
• Docker experience and multi-container apps.
• CI/CD with GitHub Actions or GitLab CI.
• AWS deployment using EC2/S3/RDS; IAM/VPC basics.
• Experience guiding AI coding agents in production code.

Responsabilidades

• Develop features across the stack: React UI, Node.js and Python services, APIs, and databases.
• Own features from planning to deployment and testing.
• Write and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
• Troubleshoot across layers and implement fixes with tests.
• Direct AI coding agents with clear tasks and acceptance criteria.
• Review, test, and correct agent-generated code for security and performance.
• Research unfamiliar code, compare approaches, document tradeoffs.
• Develop proofs of concept and mature into production with tests/CI/CD.
• Maintain agent instructions and reusable skills for better practices.
• Package apps with Docker and manage CI/CD pipelines.
• Deploy on AWS and coordinate security changes.
• Contribute to security hardening and STIG evidence.
• Maintain docs for engineers and AI tools.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and identify improvements.
