Job summary

Fitch is seeking a Software Engineer, Full Stack - AI in Chicago to design, develop, and deploy enterprise-scale web apps. You’ll build an internal portal with React and micro-frontends, plus Java micro-services that interact with Kafka topics.

You will work in an agile team, partner with DevOps on CI/CD, and mentor others on React and frontend architectures while leveraging AI tools to accelerate delivery. Hybrid in-office 2–3 days weekly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of software engineering experience.
• 2+ years of hands-on AWS data services (Glue, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB) and Python frameworks including PySpark, Pandas, and FastAPI.
• Strong SQL skills and query optimization across relational/analytical databases.
• Experience with streaming (Kafka) and workflow orchestration (Airflow).
• 2+ years working with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake preferred) and modern table formats (Iceberg/Delta Lake).
• Experience with data governance platforms (Collibra/Alation) and data mesh/virtualization tools.
• Design and build REST or GraphQL APIs with integrated data/ML features.
• Experience with AI coding assistants to accelerate development velocity.
• Experience with relational DBs like SQL Server, PostgreSQL.

Responsibilities

• Work in an agile team to design, develop, and deploy enterprise-scale web applications.
• Build an internal portal using React, micro-frontend architecture, and micro-services.
• Develop Java micro-services to support frontend and Kafka topics.
• Collaborate with DevOps on CI/CD pipelines.
• Provide production support and mentor team on React and micro-frontend developments.
