Fitch Group, Inc. in Chicago seeks a Senior Engineer – Data Platforms & Full Stack Applications to join our office. You will work in an agile team crafting enterprise-scale web apps and data platforms, building an internal portal with React, micro-frontends, micro-services, and event-driven patterns.

Responsibilities include Java micro-services, Kafka topics, and CI/CD collaboration with DevOps. The role demands strong SQL, AWS data services, and modern data tooling expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 5 years of software engineering experience.
• 3–5 years experience with AWS data services and Python frameworks (PySpark, Pandas, FastAPI).
• Strong SQL and query optimization skills.
• Experience with Kafka and Airflow for streaming and orchestration.
• 2 years with Snowflake and modern table formats (Iceberg/Delta Lake).
• Familiarity with data governance tools (Collibra/Alation) and data mesh or virtualization.
• REST or GraphQL APIs with data/ML features; experience with AI-assisted coding tools.
• Experience with SQLServer / PostgreSQL.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy enterprise-scale web applications in an agile team.
• Build an internal portal using React, micro-frontend, micro-services, and event-driven architecture.
• Develop Java micro-services to support frontend and Kafka topics.
• Collaborate with DevOps on CI/CD pipelines.
• Provide production support and mentor on React and micro-frontend developments.
