Job summary

FIS is seeking a Software Engineer to join our hybrid Chicago-area team and help build scalable fintech software. You will work across full-stack development with Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, and microservices, collaborating with product, UX, and QA to deliver robust solutions.

You'll leverage AI-powered development tools such as Claude Code, Kiro, and frontier LLMs to boost productivity, while maintaining code quality, security, and performance. Prior experience in SaaS/FinTech is valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of software engineering experience in SaaS or FinTech.
• Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering or related field preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Java, JavaScript, and TypeScript.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Engage in full-stack development across backend to UI using RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring features to market.
• Operate as an AI-native engineer, integrating Claude Code, Kiro and frontier LLMs into workflows.
• Ensure code quality, security, and maintainability through reviews and best practices.
