Job summary

Fitch Group is seeking a Software Engineer, Full Stack - AI for the Chicago area to join its Technology & Data Team. You will design and build an enterprise-scale web portal using React and micro-frontend architecture, while developing Java micro-services to support the frontend and Kafka integration.

You will collaborate with DevOps on CI/CD, mentor teammates, and apply AI-powered coding tools to accelerate delivery and code quality in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
• 2+ years of software engineering experience.
• 2+ years with AWS data services (Glue, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB) and Python frameworks (PySpark, Pandas, FastAPI).
• Strong SQL proficiency with query optimization across relational/analytical databases.
• Experience with Kafka and Airflow for streaming/workflow orchestration.
• 2+ years with Snowflake and modern table formats (Iceberg/Delta Lake).
• Experience with data governance platforms (Collibra, Alation) and data mesh concepts.
• Design and build REST or GraphQL APIs with integrated data/ML features.
• Experience using AI coding assistants to accelerate development velocity.

Responsibilities

• Work in an agile team to design, develop, and deploy enterprise-scale web apps.
• Build an internal portal using React, micro-frontend, micro-services, and event-driven architecture.
• Develop Java micro-services to support frontend and Kafka topics.
• Collaborate with DevOps and other squads on CI/CD pipelines.
• Provide production support and mentor the team on React and micro-frontend developments.
