Job summary

W.E. Bowers & Associates, LLC is seeking an entry-to-mid level Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain modern full-stack web applications hosted in Microsoft Azure.

You will work with AI-augmented workflows using Claude Code to accelerate delivery and improve code quality. You will collaborate with business users on-site in Beltsville, MD, and partner with Legence teams to align standards, security, and platform initiatives, while growing in ownership and responsibility over AI-assisted

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 2–4 years of professional, post-college experience in full-stack web development.
• Proficiency with React for front-end development.
• Strong Python or Java back-end development; working knowledge of the other is strongly preferred.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Fabric.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure ecosystem (App Service, Functions, SQL, Cosmos DB, Azure OpenAI, DevOps/GitHub Actions, Entra ID).
• Hands-on experience with Claude Code or similar AI coding tools; readiness to adopt Claude Code from day one.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for translating requirements into solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain full-stack web applications hosted in Microsoft Azure.
• Develop responsive front-end interfaces using React.
• Build and maintain back-end services, APIs, and integrations using Python and/or Java.
• Model, query, and manage data using Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Fabric.
• Leverage Claude Code and related AI tooling to accelerate delivery and improve code quality.
• Integrate AI capabilities into business applications to support users and efficiency.
• Modernize legacy reporting assets (Crystal Reports tied to Spectrum) where applicable.
• Partner with business users on-site to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
• Collaborate across Legence teams on standards, security, and platform initiatives.
• Document solutions and follow CI/CD best practices.
