Hello Innovation in Detroit seeks a driven Director of Finance & Accounting to lead the finance function, drive AI-enabled workflows, and shape the company’s financial future. You’ll own books, forecasting, controls and strategic partnering with the CEO to allocate capital and grow profitably.

You bring 8+ years of progressive finance experience, 3+ years in a leadership role, and preferably a CPA/CMA. This is a rare chance to build an AI-first finance function in a fast-moving company.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including 3+ years leading the function as a Director, Controller or Head of Finance.
• A CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
• You turn a P&L into a point of view: what’s happening, why it matters and what we should do next.

Responsibilities

• Own finance and accounting, end to end.
• Shape our financial future by partnering with the CEO on strategy, KPIs and allocation.
• Keep the books accurate and the close on track with timely statements.
• Turn financial insight into action via budgeting, forecasting, and scenarios.
• Protect cash, manage liquidity and optimize working capital.
• Build an AI-first finance function with automated workflows.
• Establish data quality standards and secure, governed outputs.
• Own finance systems, processes, and controls supporting growth.
• Stay ahead of tax and compliance obligations.
• Oversee compensation and benefits costs in partnership with HR.
