Job summary

Basis is seeking a Controller to build the financial systems and operating foundation for its next growth stage. You’ll own accounting integrity and a clear understanding of how the company earns and spends money, reporting to the Head of Finance.

The role blends technical accounting depth with systems thinking in an AI-driven environment. You’ll redesign workflows across close, reconciliations, spend monitoring, and reporting, determining where AI can own work and ensuring auditable,

Qualifications

• 6-12 years of progressive accounting and finance experience at a high-growth company.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge across financial reporting, revenue recognition, accruals, capitalization, equity.
• Systems mindset to translate messy processes into clear workflows and reliable data.
• Building role with experience in accounts payable, procurement, expense management, purchasing approvals, spend reporting.

Responsibilities

• Own the integrity of Basis' accounting and financial systems.
• Redesign workflows and determine AI-enabled opportunities across close, reconciliations, spend monitoring, reporting.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to translate learnings into improved systems and product insights.
• Define how a modern finance function operates at an AI company and scale controls and governance.
• Partner with Engineering, Product, Sales, People, and leadership to align finance with business strategy.
