Job summary

Nasdaq is hiring a Lead DevOps Engineer to design, build, and operate AI agents and orchestration frameworks that automate critical workflows across mission-critical systems. You will develop CI/CD pipelines, integrate REST APIs, and work with LLM-based tooling to reduce manual effort while increasing reliability.

You will contribute to architectures, document workflows, and explore emerging AI technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Expert-level Python development experience with strong knowledge of automation and orchestration frameworks.
• Experience designing and supporting CI/CD pipelines, working with Git, and integrating systems through REST APIs.
• Proficiency in YAML and JSON.
• Experience building AI agents, autonomous systems, or AI-driven automation solutions, with familiarity with LLMs, prompt engineering, and tool-calling frameworks.
• Experience combining AI decision logic with deterministic automation and designing event-driven, workflow-based systems.
• Strong analytical and systems-thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently in ambiguous environments and collaborate effectively across global teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, operate, and continuously improve AI agents that automate operational, engineering, and support workflows.
• Develop agent orchestration frameworks using LLMs, tool integrations, structured workflows, and workflow-based automation patterns.
• Build and maintain automation pipelines that combine AI reasoning and decision-making with deterministic systems, controls, and operational processes.
• Implement Python-based services supporting AI agent execution, control, and integration with internal platforms including APIs, ITSM systems, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools.
• Design and evolve CI/CD pipelines for AI-enabled services and automation platforms.
• Serve as an escalation point for complex AI and automation issues while identifying opportunities to improve reliability and reduce manual effort through agentic automation.
• Document architectures and workflows, research emerging AI technologies, and develop proofs of concept to evaluate new capabilities.
