Job summary

Micron Technology in the United States is seeking an experienced capacity planning and infrastructure forecasting professional to optimize global data center and hybrid cloud environments.

You will partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, SMAI, and Corporate IT to translate demand into actionable plans, using AI-enabled tools and analytics to improve forecasting accuracy, efficiency, and readiness for AI workloads.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• 5+ years of infrastructure engineering, cloud operations, data center operations, capacity planning, or technology lifecycle management.
• Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environments, including compute, storage, networking, cloud, and data center technologies.
• Strong analytical, forecasting, reporting, automation, operational planning, and problem-solving skills, with experience presenting recommendations to executive team members.
• Demonstrable ability to employ AI-powered tools and data analytics to improve business outcomes while collaborating effectively across technical and business teams.

Responsibilities

• Capacity Planning & Operations: Maintain a comprehensive view of global infrastructure capacity across on-premises and cloud environments. Track capacity by region, platform, and service tier. Monitor utilization and demand trends to identify risks and opportunities.
• Forecasting & Optimization: Develop rolling 3-, 6-, 12-, and 24-month capacity forecasts using demand signals, utilization trends, roadmaps, and lifecycle plans. Use AI-assisted forecasting and digital modeling to identify trends and optimize resource allocation.
• Governance & Lifecycle Management: Establish and manage capacity planning processes across hybrid environments. Define policies for buffers, refresh timing, and lifecycle management. Lead capacity review sessions with stakeholders.
• Reporting & Engagement: Develop executive dashboards and reporting. Provide data-driven recommendations on infrastructure growth, lifecycle risks, and readiness. Collaborate across functions to align demand and readiness.
