Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo, CA, is seeking an Associate Director – Cyberspace Innovation to lead AI-enabled cybersecurity initiatives across space and defense domains. You will drive technology strategy, collaborate with DoD and IC partners, and shape customer requirements for advanced cyber operations.

This senior role requires 10+ years in cyber/AI, strong leadership, and the ability to secure TS/SCI with the potential for SAP clearances.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, data science, electrical engineering, or a related STEM discipline.
• 10+ years’ experience in cybersecurity, AI, ML, systems engineering, software development, or related fields.
• Proven leadership overseeing technical teams in cyber operations, AI/ML development or defense-oriented projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop, hire, lead, and mentor a team of cybersecurity professionals including AI-enabled cyber operations experts.
• Define and drive the strategic vision for AI and cybersecurity initiatives across space and defense domains.
• Provide strategic leadership support across CS3 subdivision, triaging hiring needs and shaping work.
• Collaborate with interagency partners (DoD, IC, NASA) to formulate AI-enabled cyber strategies.
• Champion the integration of AI/ML into cyber operations and influence customer requirements toward AI-enabled solutions.
• Oversee evolution of cyber innovations strategy and AI technologies to mitigate risks.
• Direct and review analyses, PoC prototypes, and AI/ML model evaluations to inform decision makers.
• Provide thought leadership at the AI-cyber intersection and translate vision into actionable solutions.
• Cultivate a high-performance, collaborative environment attracting top AI and cyber talent.
